About

I'm Lyall, a generation Y health professional who enjoys using apparatus for capturing moving images from time to time.

Conversations, wine, coffee and socks are nice too.

For the most part this tumblelog isn't a beacon of erudition however occasionally I post serious entries about healthcare and the image of nursing.

I have a surprising number of fashion and chaps related posts.

I run Space Rules, contribute to We Come From A Sunburnt Country a tumblr about Australia and a tumblr dedicated to gastronomic atrocities of the past called Aspic And Other Delights .

Currently living in Port Hedland and working in South Hedland, Western Australia at the regional hospital.

Ask a question.

somebody ate this today…this is why you’re fat. holy heart attack. “The Reggie Deluxe.” Vom.

Scone Burger???
That isn’t a bread roll. It looks like an oversized scone (Do Americans even know what a scone is?).
America, please explain?

••••• G’Day Lyall — that is not a scone. Close. This is a Southern Style Biscuit. Like a scone it is flakey but they are bigger and saltier and a bit dryer. The gravy is a combination of fat, fat, fat, fat and flour and pepper. We see an egg (last we heard you had them in OZ) some pork product and some deep fried “indistinguishable stuff” … maybe burger, maybe chicken… Bon appitite! —BP

So basically the biscuit is the scone’s evil North American cousin that prefers to associate with pork, buger patties and pools of gravy instead of the more genteel strawberry jam and cream. – Lyall (also see egg used in an Australian context)
Addit: Just wanted to clarify that I’m not mocking the biscuit. It looks bad ass (as you Americans would say) and I’d try one. I’d probably like it too but frequent consumption could see me end up in the coronary care unit.
