About

I'm Lyall, a generation Y health professional who enjoys using apparatus for capturing moving images from time to time.

Conversations, wine, coffee and socks are nice too.

For the most part this tumblelog isn't a beacon of erudition however occasionally I post serious entries about healthcare and the image of nursing.

I have a surprising number of fashion and chaps related posts.

I run Space Rules, contribute to We Come From A Sunburnt Country a tumblr about Australia and a tumblr dedicated to gastronomic atrocities of the past called Aspic And Other Delights .

Currently living in Port Hedland and working in South Hedland, Western Australia at the regional hospital.

Ask a question.

I follow politics in Australia and abroad, particularly in America. I’ve heard all the debates including the VP debate. Despite my keen interest I didn’t realise until a few days ago there was a serious alternative contender in the 2008 presidential race. At the same time I have found Obama underwhelming.

I have done my research and considered my political views. I now support the presidential campaign that will:

  • introduce single payer health coverage (Medicare for all Americans) - (Americans should get the same free hospital care and affordable medications as I can as an Australian.)
  • support solar, wind, geothermal energy and efficiency measures to deal with climate change instead of more oil, gas, coal, ‘clean coal’ (a contradiction in terms) and nuclear.
  • give ordinary hard working Americans a living wage.
  • work for the interests of citizens instead of corporations.

Visit http://www.votenader.org/issues/ to see what Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez stand for. Do you agree with them? Now go and compare that with the other candidates.

Who has the policy platform you agree with the most?

Vote for someone YOU believe in.

If I could vote for the US president in November I would vote for Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez.

What do you think after comparing policy platforms? (leave a comment or reblog this)
