I love how this image shows both change and continuity in the urban environment over the course of the past 80 years. While St Paul’s, Flinders Station, the Forum, and even the Manchester Unity Building may not dominate the skyline the way they used to, there’s something reassuring about the familiarity of the scene after all these years.
In the three and a half years I’ve lived here, I’ve really come to think of Melbourne as home, and I find my appreciation of this fine city only grows with time!
